The Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) is dedicated to providing learning opportunities to improve science education for all students. Through science workshops, networking and personalized meetings, the CCCOE supports districts, coaches and classroom teachers in implementing the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in elementary and secondary classrooms. The Contra Costa Community College District is located in Contra Costa County, in the East Bay area of San Francisco. Contra Costa College is a dynamic, comprehensive community college with a diverse student population. Los Medanos College, opened in 1974, is the newest campus in the Contra Costa Community College District. The primary objective of the CCCOE Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) initiative is to engage all students in authentic learning experiences aligned with California standards.
